Google Pixel 'Made You Look'

Parents know how tricky it can be to coax a smile out of little ones during photo time. That’s why Google Pixel introduced a fun new feature called Made You Look – an interactive Lottie animation designed to instantly capture kids’ attention and bring out their cute smiles.

Each animation is made up of three states: Idle, Hint, and Surprise. The Idle state is the default looping animation, but once the phone’s camera detects a smile, it transitions to Hint. And if the child breaks into laughter, it triggers the Surprise state.
Because the animation can jump from one state to another at any moment, we had to ensure each transition was as smooth and seamless as possible, using layering and strategically placed match cuts.

Animating these silly characters was a blast! It was so much fun bringing them to life with quirky movements and playful expressions, giving each character a distinct animation style.
